Tonsillectomies, The Princess Diaries, & 3 Amazon Prime Day Picks (That I Know You'll Love)
Female Foodie Friday Vol. 38
I hit a major parenting milestone this week: my oldest got his tonsils out.
How has it been? In some ways not as bad as I thought, and in other ways I feel a little bit like I’m on house arrest. The good news is that we’re 5 days deep, and (hopefully) less than 5 days in the clear.
I was 2 or 3 when I got my tonsils out and (shockingly) still have memories of it. It’s been great to reassure my son that if I can do it, he can do it too.
Do you have a child or loved one getting their tonsils out soon?
I have few tips to offer other than: 1) stay up on meds (even in the middle of the night on the first day or two), 2) push liquids & popsicles as much as possible, and 3) survive.
You got this.
And it isn’t worse than potty training.

10 Things That Made This Week Great
Getting tonsils out is no fun, but seeing my baby snuggle his big brother was sooo sweet.
Finally sat down and watched the Marcella Hazan documentary and it was very good. Glad I bought this one on Prime because it won’t be the last time I’ll watch it.
Beyond thrilled about our recipe this week, a flavor and texture-packed halloumi salad. If this isn’t the salad of the summer then I don’t know what is!
I’ve been making a lot of my mom’s recipes lately and made her Indian butter chicken on Sunday and it 1000% hit the spot.
This vid is everything.
Getting my CSA box on Tuesdays is always a bright spot in my week. Purple cauliflower is still sitting in my fridge and almost feels too pretty to cook?!
Haven’t seen anything I’ve needed for Prime Day but here are 3 things I HAVE and LOVE that I’d recommend to anyone wholeheartedly:
this amazing wireless meat thermometer, a game changer for grilling and smoking and very accurate
this life-changing Dyson hair dryer that I can literally dry my entire head of hair with in 5 mins
Martha Stewart’s 100th book, which I’ve made several things out of and love!
Re-watched The Princess Diaries for the first time in YEARS and it was so good and wildly nostalgic. My favorite part will forever be Mia’s makeover and when she smacks the high school hottie Josh in the face with a shoe.
Need a killer chocolate chip cookie recipe this summer? Watch this vid and allow me convince you to make these.
A long walk in the sunshine paired with a phone call to my grandpa was the perfect way to end the week. Grateful to still have two living grandparents who have meant everything to me. If your grandparents are still around, call them today and tell them you love them. ❤️
What are you up to this weekend? Anything fun? I’d love to hear.
Waiting for our son to get home from HXP Bali. Haven't talked to him in 2 1/2 weeks. They are not allowed phones on the trip, so forced digital detox. His flight from LA got delayed so it might be a long night.

Send any peach recipes along. i love love love peaches just the way they are but willing to try something new if you have a favorite. xo
